Truck accident injures 3-year-old tractor driver

Semi trucks are a common sight on the roadways in Olmsted and throughout the state. While these vehicles are a common part of the landscape, their familiarity does not make their presence any less of a risk to smaller vehicles. Add in that the amount of time drivers spend on the road in their rigs and the potential for inclement whether, and there is a significant chance that a truck accident will occur with dire consequences. The sheer size of these vehicles make it highly probable that there will be severe injuries and fatalities in a semi truck crash.

A 13-year-old boy who was driving a tractor was hurt in an accident with a truck. The incident occurred at around 10:15 a.m. The boy was making a left onto a field when the truck carrying grain crashed into him. The police investigation showed that the truck was trying to pass the tractor. The boy was taken to the hospital. His condition is unknown. There is the likelihood that charges will be filed against the driver of the truck.

When there is an accident involving a truck, there might be injuries serious enough that a long hospital stay will be required. Along with that will come hefty medical expenses. There might be the need for rehabilitation, and the injured person could have trouble returning to normal, placing a strain on the family that will have to decide how he or she will be cared for.

Insurance companies are often reluctant to pay for a person's medical care since they want to keep their costs in line. They might make an offer early in the process to preclude a legal filing from a victim seeking compensation. While the offer might sound substantial, it is rarely enough to cover the expenses an injured person will face. Injured people need to protect themselves.

A 13-year-old who was driving a tractor was hurt when a truck -- believed to have been trying to pass him -- crashed into his tractor. With the number of issues this boy could face after this incident, it is important that his family do everything they can to protect him. To discuss a potential legal filing, they should contact a legal professional experienced in dealing with a semi truck crash as soon as possible.
