One injured in suspected Minnesota drunk driving accident

Getting behind the wheel of a vehicle after having a few drinks may not seem like a big deal to some drivers, but this might be because intoxicated drivers forget they are not only playing with their own life but also putting other drivers’ lives at risk as well. In fact, drunk drivers cause turmoil not only in the lives of other drivers on the road but also the family members of accident victims, who have to deal with an injured or deceased loved one.

A suspected drunk driver did just that when he got behind the wheel of his motor home that was pulling an enclosed trailer. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the suspected drunk driver rear-ended another car as it made a left hand turn. The 35-year-old accident victim was severely injured as a result of the accident.

According to some, the motor home went over the car as a result of the accident and then flipped over, trapping the suspected drunk driver and his wife inside the car. Apparently they did not suffer any injuries in the accident.

It is difficult enough to come to terms with being involved in an accident, but when there are injuries to contend with that are long-lasting, car accident victims are reminded of their experience on a daily basis. Compensation for this pain and suffering is just one of the costs that can be sought from a drunk driver in a personal injury lawsuit. Other costs that could be pursued a civil suit are medical bills and lost wages. Though it may not possible to put a number to the value of the injuries suffered, the compensation received through a personal injury suit can ease the financial burdens associated with the accident.
